The Summer Institute in LGBT Population Health is an extraordinary opportunity to train early career scholars in LGBT health research.
The Summer Institute provides interdisciplinary training in the theoretical and methodological foundations of how to best conduct research with sexual and gender minority populations. The Fenway Institute of Fenway Health, as well as the Institute for Urban Health Research at Northeastern University sponsored this two-week intensive training opportunity. The program is highly competitive and has drawn a cohort of 10 graduate students and early career scholars from across North America.
IWRI’s Jessica Elm was selected to participate in the program. Jessica is a member of the Oneida Nation and received a Master’s of Social Welfare from the University of California – Berkeley. Presently, she is a PhD candidate and Graduate Research Associate at the UW’s School of Social Work where her research focuses on addressing health inequities among American Indians. Please join us in congratulating Jessica on her participation in the Summer Institute!
