Native Participants Needed to Test Culturally-Adapted Ethical Research Training

We are happy to report that the full trial of the Ethics Training for Health in Indigenous Communities Study (ETHICS) launched in February 2016 and we are actively seeking eligible Native participants to test the culturally-adapted research ethics training.

The purpose of ETHICS is to adapt a research training so that it prepares researchers to conduct ethical research with American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) communities. We have culturally adapted the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) human subjects research training so that it is more accessible and relevant to projects happening in AIAN communities.

We are looking for participants who:

1.  Are American Indian or Alaska Native;
2.  Are 18 years of age or older;
3.  Have never taken an ethical research training course (or it has been over five years);
4.  Have an interest in research or who are currently working with a research partner; and
5.  Have their own email address, computer, and internet.

Eligible participants will receive $150 for participating in a ten-minute screening interview and testing a four-hour training. Interested? Please email goethics@uw.edu or call 877-880-6758.
