Chris Charles, BSW is a Research Coordinator with the Indigenous Wellness Research Institute. Chris is interested in translating research findings for use by Indigenous community and health practitioners. He has been with IWRI since the founding of the institute and is excited to see the evolution and growth over the years. Chris has led IWRI’s Digital Storytelling initiatives and works collaboratively with community partners to communicate research, public health and community mental health messaging through IWRI’s social media campaigns. Chris is also firmly rooted in mindfulness practice and has completed the Community Dharma Leader training program through Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Chris is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at the University of British Columbia to further his desire of working more directly with the community as a health practitioner.
