Jada L. Brooks, PhD, MSPH, RN (Lumbee)

Assistant Professor, School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Jada L. Brooks, PhD, MSPH, RN (Lumbee) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). She completed her postdoctoral training at the UNC-CH School of Nursing through a National Institute of Nursing Research sponsored T32 training grant (T32 NR007091) Interventions for Preventing and Managing Chronic Illness. Jada is a Duke Alumnus having completed a PhD and BSN from Duke University School of Nursing in 2011 and 2005, respectively. Jada also holds a Master of Science in Public Health in Epidemiology from the UNC-CH School of Public Health (2005) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry with an emphasis in Biomedicine from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (2001). Her primary research interest is identifying and reducing exposure to environmental contaminants and social stressors that compromise the health of American Indian children with asthma.
