Shanondora Billiot, PhD (United Houma Nation)

She has worked in Washington, D.C., as an international public health analyst for the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Global Health Affairs. Dr. Billiot holds an MSW from the University of Michigan (2007) and undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology (2005) from Louisiana State University. She is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the Louisiana Air National Guard. She conducts research in the areas of community level trauma among AIAN communities due to environmental injustices and the engagement of tribal communities in community based participatory research as well as in designing and implementing culturally relevant environmental change strategies to promote community resilience.
